2022, a round up.

What a whirlwind the past 18 months have been in the wedding world. 2022 has flown over in an a heartbeat. As always, a favourite time of my year is looking back and reflecting on my previous years work. I always look back on my previous years round up’s too, to see any growth and development both personally and my works.

I have noticed a significant shift in what I focus on and find important over the past few years - I may have previously beat myself up about not getting that instagold shot, the one that gets all of the likes, epic backdrops, perfect light, the stars aligning and receiving validation from the industry. This year that seems to have changed. It has seen my focus shift quite simply to people and their emotions and their circles of family and friends, true story telling. After all, I’m here to document weddings, I’m not here to orchestrate a storyline to your day and seek recognition from it.

This may have been a direct result of the years previous events, finding what is important in life as it all can change, or maybe even as a result of starting a family of my own and witnessing first hand how fast things change in life. Either way, I’m happy where the journey is taking me and as always, wouldn’t be doing it without all of the lovely souls that trust me to document their story. I still have to remind myself that this is actually my career, as testing as the past couple of years have been.

A huge thank you to not only all couples past, present and future but the folk who just stick around, all my pals in the industry and my fam, it wouldn’t be the same without you.

Enough waffling on, here is a round up of 2022 photographed on both digital and analogue film.
